Northern Rockies Seniors Society

Enriching the lives of seniors in our community

1st Annual Bus Pull

-

On September 20th Qwest Helicopters hosted the Qwest Community Fun Festival and the whole town was invited. It was an amazing day, the weather cooperated and the people came out in droves. There was a pancake breakfast and BBQ lunch, a bouncy house and face painting for the kids, also raffles, silent auction and car show but the thing that got everyone excited was the free helicopter rides.

Cam and Zonk (owners of Qwest Helicopters) operated the helicopters all day much to the delight of the community. In all there were 73 flights, thrilling 872 people with a total weight lifted of 150,040lbs. The event was organized for the most part by Tova Dancevic and what a great job she did.

The Northern Rockies Seniors Society held its Bus Pull at the event and with 3 teams entered; they wowed the crowd with their brute strength. The winning team was Radar Road Transport Ltd. However, a team of Grandmas and Grandpas decided to show the young people how it should be done and posted really great times.

The Car Show was wonderful, so many beautiful cars in this community, however there can only be one winner and that was Cam Allan. He won the big trophy and bragging rights until next time. We had many volunteers to help with the event and they really helped to pull it together.

Qwest Helicopters decided they would donate all funds raised to the Northern Rockies Seniors Society who will use the money to continue with the building of Heritage Place. This small community has a lot to be proud of; we are a tight-knit town with a heart of gold who knows how to have a good time.
